Old pals act can give Wolverhampton Wolves a boost at reserve

Wolverhampton racer Nathan Greaves is hoping a link-up with old pal Ashley Morris can help him find an extra gear in 2018.

The two will line-up together at reserve for the Parrys International Wolves this season – five years after the pair won the National League together with the then named Dudley Heathens.

And with no other team spot to support his top flight racing at the start of the new campaign, Greaves is hoping Morris and he can help the Monmore Men to some impressive early results.

“Ash was a good captain then and we got on quite well,” Greaves said.

“So hopefully we can pull off some big results this season, especially in Heat Two where we’re racing together, and do our bit for the team.

“Last season I didn’t get off to the best start in the Premiership but throughout the year I was able to go back to the National League or the Championship with the Isle of Wight or Ipswich, build up my confidence again and try and take that to my Premiership racing.

"But I haven’t got that to fall back on at the start of this year. It does mean there’s a lot of pressure for me to perform for Wolverhampton, but I’ve just got to go out there and do my best each and every meeting.”

Wolves will hope to launch their Premiership campaign on Monday (April 9, 7.30) when they host reigning champions Swindon at Monmore after last night’s trip to Poole became their third washout of the week.
