Royal reign after Green’s super show

Mitch Green gained Royal approval following a top-drawer individual display in the Wolverhampton Sunday League Premier Division.

Red-hot Green found the net four times to fire Royal FC to a 6-2 victory over visiting Castlecroft.

Lewis Roberts and Ryan Tinsley joined Green on the scoresheet as Tettenhall claimed their first win of the season. Castlecroft are still waiting to get off the mark.

Codsall Legion Sundats still top the table following a 2-0 win at Emerald Athletic.

Warstones Wanderers Sunday sit second after Jon Holdcroft (two), Tony Russon and Aaron Perrin netted in a 4-2 win over TK Wanderers.

AFC Jacks hit the goal trail at Bilbrook Spartans, netting seven times without reply.

Concero staged a late rally to rescue a point from their Division One clash at Barley Mow.

Mow had cancelled out an early effort from Adam Meehan to lead 3-1 through strikes from Adam Lindsay, Grant Timmins and Jay Chambers.

But Concero kept going and cut the deficit with a long range effort from Dan Lodge. And the comeback was complete when Micheal Davies beat the offside trap and calmly slotted an equaliser.

Thomas Edge and Jack Dew were on target to earn Azaad Sports three points at the expense of Essington WMC.

Belgrade came out on top of an entertaining clash at Connaught.

The hosts hit the post twice before two goals in five minutes from Sam Conway and Lee Gray put Belgrade in charge. Connaught hit back through Simon Bond just before half-time and then Cieran Clifton equalised on the hour.

But it was Belgrade who provided the final flourish with Andy Turvey and Antoine Julien scoring in final 10 minutes to clinch victory.

A five-star show from Jake Griffiths powered Wednesfield FC Sundays to victory at Dynamo 50 Stile.

Griffiths helped himself to five goals, and a couple of assists, in the 9-1 success. Louie Mason was also in fine form with a hat-trick, while Callum Head struck once.

Punjab United Sports are setting the early pace at the top of the standings following a 2-0 win on home soil against Bradmore Social.

Tettenhall Royal Oak and GSA Lions were involved in an action-packed clash in Division Two.

The game served up 12 goals, with just four players getting their names on the scoresheet.

Tettenhall’s John Nedic took the individual honours with a five-goal blast as his side won 8-4.

Jermaine Bowen provided support with a hat-trick while Aaron Bahia and Manie Singh both scored twice for Lions.

ECC Sports also found their shooting boots, running out 7-1 winners at Royal George.

Clayton Peddle led the victory charge with a treble while Lewis Poston struck twice and Matthew Coalman and Daniel Taylor once each. Simon Jones grabbed a consolation for Royal George.

Tipton Town Sundays edged out Three Cups 2-1.

Jack Kelly scored for Cups but that was cancelled out by Tipton’s Adam Hill and Craig Ruston.

Dudley United and KT Rangers shared eight goals and the points.

Oscar Charlesworth grabbed a late winner for Pilot in their home clash with Churchill Royal Oak.

The game was all square at 1-1 with 10 minutes remaining after Sean Broadway’s effort for Pilot had been cancelled out by a thunderous strike from Joshua Baker.

But Charlesworth had the final say, when he cut inside and fired home a sweet left-foot strike from just outside the area.

A hat-trick from Darryl Gillet helped lift Black Country Fusion up to second place in the early pecking order.

Ryan Pallet also notched for Fusion as they beat RG FC 4-1.
