Carolians made the trip in confident mood on the back of two successive home wins but were beaten 23-13 by a well-drilled home side.

It was the hosts who struck first when a kick and chase resulted in a converted try.

KC’s saw their initial attempts to hit back hampered by a number of handling errors but finally got themselves on the scoreboard when Ryan Tiene powered over for an unconverted score.

And the it was the visitors who led at the break after Freddie Morgan knocked over a penalty.

A succession of injuries checked Kidderminster at the start of the second half and it was Silhillians who truck next with try to go 12-8 up.

KC’s replied with captain Mike Protheroe crossing the line. But the visitors were coming under increasing pressure and a home penalty made it 15-13.

KC’s were then reduced to 14 following a yellow card and Silhillians added a penalty and a try.
