Hot-shot Potts plots Ark’s cup downfall

Three Cups striker Connor Potts is proving to be top of the shots in the Wolverhampton Sunday League.

The ace marksman wreaked havoc on opposing defenders once again with another scintillating display of sharp-shooting in Cups’ Ken Pemberton Cup clash with Noahs Ark.

The boys from the Ark were well and truly sunk as Potts struck seven times in the 8-0 win to take his tally for the season to a staggering 28 in seven games,

Ben Moore, with a fine 20-yard strike, added the other goal.

And it got worse for the visitors with Tettenhall showing a clinical touch in front of goal to go 3-0 up courtesy of strikes from Joel Sardong and Connor Pugh.

George were on the scoreboard before half-time when Ellis James headed home.

The visitors cut the deficit to one with 20 minutes remaining thanks to a smart finish from Adam Herbet. Five minutes injury time add to the tension but Tettenhall held out.

Essington WMC have cranked up the pressure on Division Two leaders Belgrade.

With Belgrade held to a goalless draw by Azaad Sports, Essington cashed in as they eased to victory against Connaught.

Two-goal James Colauto led the way in Essington’s 6-0 success. Jake Morgan, Shaun Salter, Sam Lawrence and Zak Wilkes also found the net.

The win leaves Essington two points behind Azaad but with a game in hand.

Mitchell Kerry bagged the only goal of the game to secure the points for UTC Collins at Barley Mow Wanderers.

Tipton Town Sunday also bagged a maximum haul with strikes from Beckham Brazier, Chris Clarke and Adam Hill earning a 3-2 win against Pilot.

Third-placed Dynamo 50 Stile added to struggling Wednesfield 86’s woes as they won 7-1.

Summerhill missed the chance to go top of Division Three as they suffered a shock defeat.

With leaders Castlecroft not in action, a draw or win would have seen Summerhill leapfrog them into pole position.

But they came unstuck, 2-1, against Dudley United on home soil.

Churchill Royal Oak hit top form to sweep aside Ashmore.

Joshua Jones (two), Jonathan Brown, Thomas Rayson, Alex O’Conner, Calum Rowley and James Thomas all hit the net in the 7-3 success.

Jay Cooper, Jordan Cross, Josh Bradley replied for Ashmore.

Dale Harvey, Wayne Blake and Sam Davies fired Phoenix United to 3-1 triumph over Tettenhall.

Phoenix keeper Mikey Tromons made a fine penalty save while Jacob Warrilow grabbed what proved to be a consolation for Tettenhall.

First-half strikes from Simon Sharma and Carl Quinn saw RG FC to a 2-0 victory at Wolverhampton Sports GNST.

Hill Top Rangers and ECC Sports battled out an entertaining 4-4 draw.

Craig Smith, Samuel Stokes, Winicjusz Zielinski and Kearan Noorani netted for Hill Top.

Rhys Slyde was in red-hot form for Ryans Rhinos in their Division Four clash with St Michaels Sunday.

Slyde’s four-goal blast helped send St Michaels sliding to a 5-0 defeat. Robert Webb added the other goal.

Angel Inn squandered a chance to climb to the top of the standings when they went down 1-0 at Steelmans.

Dalvir Rai grabbed the all-important goal.

Watton Wanderers beat Punjabi Wolves 2-1 thanks to strikes from Shamaine Graham and Dale Rogers. Punjabi replied through Alex Wain.

High-flying GSA Wolverhampton suffered a 3-1 reverse at Woodman Inn.

The hosts took the spoils with goals from Ryan Metcalfe (two) and Jamie Morgan. Manie Singh scored for GSA Wolverhampton.

Jacks Bar and Health Direct drew 2-2.
