The Baggies qualified for the competition, run by the European Powerchair Football Association, by finishing third in the National Premiership last season with 17 wins from their 22 fixtures.

It is the third time Albion have reached the European stage of the competition, but the first time since 2013, when they finished third in Paris.

Next week's tournament takes place in Hou, Denmark, and runs from Monday, October 17, to Thursday, October 20.

It features 10 of the best Powerchair teams from around Europe, with the two sides progressing from two groups of five.

Albion are in a group with Midlands United (Ireland), Auch (France), Aarhus Rolling Devils (Denmark), and Northern Thunder (England).

"It has been a fantastic achievement for the team to reach the Champions League for the third time," said Paul Hunt, Senior Disability Officer at club charity The Albion Foundation.

"It promises to be one of the competitive competitions in recent years with teams traveling to Denmark from across Europe.

"A lot of preparation has gone into the tournament from the players so we are eager to get started"

Albion's team, who are flying over to Denmark on Friday, consists of Lizzie Tullett, Dan Kay, Dave Lewis, Chris Gordon, Rich George, Marcus Harrison and Jordan Duke.

Powerchair football is the official disability game for people who use powered wheelchairs.

Games are four-a-side and last for two 20-minute halves.

Albion's Powerchair team was founded by The Albion Foundation in 2007.

The club charity, which was formed in 1992, uses football to help the local community.
