Conor Coady: We will make any Wolves additions feel at home

The club are yet to do any business this window, but boss Nuno Espirito Santo has stressed several times that signings are needed – and is also confident deals will be done.

At least one forward-thinking player is the priority after letting Patrick Cutrone return to Italy.

And Coady said on the prospect of fresh faces coming in: “It’s up to the club as to who they want to bring in and what they want to do.

“But we will accept and help anybody who comes into this club.

“We’ll help them settle in as quickly as possible, because it’s something we do as a team.

“As a club, we want to move forward, so it’s up to us (as players) to help the club as much as possible.”

Wolves have a track record of snapping players up from across Europe and most of them have thrived – Raul Jimenez, Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Willy Boly and Jonny Castro Otto being prime examples.

Centre-half Coady – who has been with the club for almost five years and played under four different managers – takes pride in helping players settle in, and insists everyone else in the dressing room does too.

“It’s massive, massive. It’s up to every single one of us in the changing room,” he said.

“The boss brings in a certain type of player – and they are fantastic players – and it’s up to us to help them bed in as much as possible. We’ll be ready to do that if someone does come in.”

Wolves are not thought to be close to getting a player through the door at the moment.

They like Hull striker Jarrod Bowen, who has scored 16 goals in the Championship this season, but he would cost £20million.

They have not made a move for him either, and going in for him would represent a big change of tack from Wolves – who tend to go for players from overseas.

Red Bull Salzburg forward Hwang Hee-chan continues to be linked.

However, the Austrian club are reluctant to sell this month while Nuno is understood not to be fully convinced by the South Korean.

Focus for now is on the FA Cup third-round replay against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

It will be game 38 of the season for Wolves, but Coady says fatigue is not an issue for him or any of his team-mates.

He added: “We feel fine and cannot wait. Last week (not having a midweek game) has helped us, listening to the boss and being on the training pitch.

“That’s been big for us, so we’re ready for another big run of games.

“It’s something we look forward to. We want to play as many games as possible, and Old Trafford is something we’re looking forward to.”

Meanwhile, ticket details for both legs against Espanyol in the Europa League last 32 next month are close to being finalised and announced by the club.
