Molineux sleepout raises incredible £30,000 for homeless in Wolverhampton - with VIDEO and PICTURES

A sleepout held at Molineux has raised £30,000 to help homeless people in Wolverhampton.

About two hundred Wolves fans slept in the stands on Friday night. There were special guests amongst the crowd including former players Carl Ikeme, Karl Henry and Matt Murray, and music producer S-X.

The sleepout, which lasted from 7pm to 7am, raised money for Good Shepherd Charity and the Wolves Foundation.

Former Wolves midfielder Karl Henry tweeted: "The feeling of community spirit and togetherness last night was incredible!

"Thank you to all of the members of staff for making #MolineuxSleepout happen.

"Let’s keep raising money for @wwfcfoundation and @GSM_Wolves, who do fantastic work tackling homelessness in our city."

The cash will be split between both organisations and will go towards tackling homelessness and vulnerable housing.

Fans took to social media to share their experiences.

Singer @Jaki_Graham tweeted: "Over 200 of you came out for the @wwfcfoundation @GSM_Wolves #MolineuxSleepout! Well done to everyone who took part. We all got to return to the comfort & warmth of our own homes this morning. Spare a thought for those who don't have that option."

@_rachel93 tweeted: "Such a great night at the first ever #MolineuxSleepout Such a great atmosphere with wonderful people! Well done all.

"We’ve all gone home to warm houses but not everyone has that choice- please donate if you can."
