Wolves hopeful Adama Traore will be fit for Bournemouth clash

Wolves are hopeful Adama Traore will be fit for the resumption of their Premier League campaign as the winger undergoes treatment for a hamstring injury.

Traore was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad after picking up the injury to his right hamstring late in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Villa.

The 23-year-old, who laid on what proved to be the winning goal for Raul Jimenez, was assessed at Compton Park on Monday and will undergo further treatment in the coming days.

Traore’s excellent form since the start of the season had seen him receive a maiden call-up to the senior Spanish squad.

He posted a message on social media on Sunday night which read: "I am sorry I cannot be in this call, but I will continue working to be in the best possible way for the next lists, God willing.

"I want to thank for the confidence that the coach has placed in me.”

Wolves head of medical, Phil Hayward, also confirmed Morgan Gibbs-White is making “steady progress” with the back injury which saw him miss the home wins over Slovan Bratislava and Villa, though the England under-21 international is yet to resume training.

Defender Willy Boly has, meanwhile, begun his recovery from a fractured fibula suffered last month.

Hayward said: “Willy is progressing well following his surgery. He is now two weeks post-op and has had the stitches removed.

“He is still non-weight bearing and on crutches but is working hard in the pool and in the gym to maintain his fitness.”

Wolves are back in action when they travel to Bournemouth on November 23.
