Steve Bull: Wolves' Willy Boly worth millions upon millions

By Steve Bull | Wolves | Published:

There has been talk about Willy Boly being looked at by the top six clubs recently – and it does not surprise me in the slightest.

The lad is unbelievable, absolutely class. He is strong, has a good turn of pace and is skilful with the ball at his feet.

He is one of the best defenders we have had in many years.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with him, and Boly is worth millions upon millions.

He was phenomenal at Manchester City before the international break and, of course, will be looking to keep another clean sheet against Southampton today.

The Saints are a half-decent side, to be fair.

We beat them pretty comfortably at Molineux last season but they did a job on us at their place.

I just don’t want the players to undo what they managed to pull off against City.

It is all about keeping up the momentum from that, making it three wins in a row in the Premier League.

Southampton will provide a tough test, but I think the lads will put in another top performance.

I’m so glad the international break is over and we have a game to look forward to again.

It is the last Saturday home game in quite a while though, with the next one not being until January 11 when we host Newcastle.

As a player, that doesn’t bother you too much. All you want to do is play football. It does not necessarily matter what day it is on.

But as a fan, it really does affect you. You want to work five days in a week and look forward to the football on a Saturday, then have Sunday to recover before that cycle starts again.

Now, though, a lot of Wolves’ games are falling on Sundays, with some not even kicking off until late in the afternoon, so I sympathise with supporters.

Regardless, they will continue to back Nuno and the players all they can.

The Christmas period is particularly tricky for Wolves – hosting City on December 27 and going to Liverpool two days later.

You could not ask for a tougher challenge, facing such strong sides in such a short space of time.

It truly is a relentless festive period, but I am sure they will give it a right good go and continue to make us ever so proud.

First and foremost, let’s hope we put the Saints to the sword!
