Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wary of Wolves test

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expecting a tough mental test when his Manchester United team return to Molineux on Monday night.

Wolves memorably beat United twice in the space of 18 days in March/April, with an unforgettable FA Cup quarter-final victory followed up by a win in the Premier League, with Nuno Espirito Santo's team winning 2-1 on both occasions.

United started the season in fine form last weekend, beating Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer says heading back to Molineux will feel familiar after the two meetings earlier this year – and his team will have to overcome a mental test if they're to emerge victorious.

"Wolves will give us a hard challenge, just as much a mental test," Solskjaer said on Friday.

"You always go into any game positive, with the right intention thinking you're going to win.

"Of course the last two visits there... it's almost like I feel like I'm going home, I've been there so often lately.

"They were tough games and Wolverhampton are a hard team to break down, they defend deep, don't give you a lot of spaces, and they can play, they can counter-attack, set pieces are always dangerous.

"So, we've been looking at the games we've had last season, see if there's any tweaks or different things we need to do this time.

"But our form, our attitude and, yeah, the mood after the win is great from last season, so we go into the game confident.

"I’m looking forward to the first hurdle, the resilience robustness, bouncing back when the going gets tough and I’m sure it will be on Monday.

"We’re in a good place at the moment and when you hit the first hurdle and obstacle you want to see the leaders, anyone can play well when you’re winning 3-0 or 4-0."
