Stefan said: “I was very nervous before the match. I was happy to see the faces and now I feel amazing. All the players are my favourite and I’m looking after the next one. It was really amazing.”

The youngster has Cystinosis, a rare genetic disease which means his body doesn’t get rid of amino acids. Instead, the amino acids causes cystine crystals to form in organs of the body.

Amy Hill, Stefan’s mother, and her family contacted Wolves in a bid to get him some signed items. But they were blown away by the club’s reaction.

She said: “We thought about getting in touch with them and when we mentioned Cystinosis, they offered him a mascot place and it made his wish come true.

Wolves captain Conor Coady meets Stefan in the tunnel

“He was really emotional and it really touched him – it’s been his dream.

“I think he loves all the players. They came in height-order, and so he came out with captain Conor Coady.

“They all loved him and he congratulated Ruben Neves on his baby.”

Amy, 25, also praised the amount of positive comments on social media.

She said: “I can’t believe it. I’ve not stop reading the comments – I can’t believe all the nice comments. It’s heart-warming.

"He hasn’t stopped singing. He had an amazing day, but he was let down by the score – unfortunately we didn’t.”

The youngster, from Cannock, is always asking about Wolves – from injury updates to when the club are next playing.

He became a supporter of the club due to his family all being avid Wolves fans.

Amy added: “We’re massively proud of him.”
