Bully wants Wolves to beat Bristol City on way to Wembley

Wolves’ 3-1 win at Tottenham at the end of December was one of the best away days in a long time.

Seeing Nuno’s side outclass one of the big six was an absolute delight.

And the Wolves faithful who made the trip to Wembley certainly made their voices heard.

The noise for the third goal, Helder Costa slotting home, was unbelievable as well – and that was with 3,000 old gold supporters there. So imagine what a trip back to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final, or maybe even the final, would be like, with us filling half of the famous ground and making the capital a sea of old gold for the day.

The turnout for the fourth-round replay against Shrewsbury, selling out Molineux, just showed how much fans want a deep run into the competition.

All of those going over to Bristol City today will be willing the team on all they can too, so, hopefully, we can keep the Cup dream alive.

It will not be easy, of course, given the exceptional vein of form the Robins are in. They are doing well in the Championship and have some good players. Nine straight wins in all competition deserves a lot of credit, and the players who are involved for us know – despite them being a level below – they will have to be bang at it to come away with the win.

For those who played in the last round against a spirited Shrewsbury team – the fringe players – and did not quite do themselves justice, this could well be a big opportunity for them to shine.

Beating Lee Johnson’s team and getting into the quarter-finals would be absolutely brilliant, so fingers crossed Nuno puts out a strong team who are ready to do just that. We would all like to see Wolves win in convincing fashion but, with cup football, performances really are of secondary importance.

Getting a result and being in the hat for the last eight is what matters. If it means another last-minute goal, like Ryan Bennett’s the last time we went there, then so be it.
