Wolves' Conor Coady: "Forget City defeat"

"Forget it and move on" was Conor Coady's message after Wolves suffered a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.

Coady scored an own goal as 10-man Wolves succumbed to the reigning champions at the Etihad.

And the centre half said: "We've got to get this out of our memory quickly and get going for next week.

"We've got a big game (against Leicester) so we dust ourselves down this week, make sure we're ready and try and get it out the memory.

"It's hard enough (going to the Etihad) with 11 men, never mind 10.

"They're a top quality side and we left the gaps too big.

"I think the pass through for Sane (for the first goal) was top drawer and then his cross was on a button for Jesus so we've got to learn from it, it's as simple as that.

"To go down early was disappointing from our point of view but then the game got really tough then.

"I thought the boys dug in to be honest.

"They scored off a cross for the last one, that's what goes for you when you sitting top of the league or wherever they are.

"We had to battle. We were saying, at 2-0 at half-time, don't concede any more and then we concede off a cross which is disappointing."

Willy Boly saw red in the 19th minute for a foul on Bernardo Silva, making Wolves' task a near impossible mission.

Coady, speaking immediately after the game, wasn't sure it should have been a red card and said the decision to give a penalty for Ryan Bennett's foul on Raheem Sterling was 'soft'.

"I don't know about the sending off, I don't know what it looked like to me it looked alright but I don't know what it looked like on the telly," Coady said.

"I thought the penalty was soft as well, but like I said it's hard enough coming here with 11 men so it was a tough night all round.

"It's disappointing (if Boly is suspended), he's been a big man mountain for us this year."

Wolves took 3,000 fans to the Etihad and they were largely the only set of supporters singing at what was a quiet Etihad.

Coady praised the travelling support and said: "They'll out-sing anybody, home away, we know what they're going to do.

"It's an incredible support that we've got and we know we can back them and they'll always back us to the hilt.

"We can always count on them."
