Wolves starlet Morgan Gibbs-White not getting carried away

Wolves teenager Morgan Gibbs-White is delighted to have impressed as a substitute against Spurs – but knows it will likely take more to unseat Ruben Neves or Joao Moutinho.

The Stafford-born midfielder replaced Moutinho for the final half an hour at the weekend, standing out with his crisp passing and confident dribbling in the 3-2 loss.

And while he believes he is ready to start at Arsenal on Sunday, he is not getting carried away and thinking it is a given.

“I believe I’m ready but it’s all about timing,” Gibbs-White told Sky Sports.

“I can’t expect anything because I’ve got Moutinho and Ruben Neves in front of me – two Portuguese internationals both with a lot of good experience.

“I’ve just got to bide my time and I’ll know when my chance is ready, and I’ll be ready to take it when it comes.”

On if he is learning from the Portuguese pair, Gibbs-White added: “Ridiculous amounts, learning every single day, not just on the pitch but off the pitch – the professionalism of Moutinho is improving me as a player as well.”
