We’re right behind you! 99.9% of Wolves fans back Nuno, poll reveals

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and owners Fosun have been given huge backing by Wolves fans this summer, an Express & Star poll has revealed.

Almost all of the 3,500 respondents to this season’s fans’ survey said they were happy with the job Nuno and Fosun were doing

The poll also revealed their player of the season was midfield maestro Ruben Neves.

And more than 90 per cent believe Wolves will stay in the Premier League for more than five seasons.

The findings reflect the optimistic mood of Wolves fans after watching their team enjoy a stellar season that saw them crowned Championship champions and win promotion back to England’s top flight.

They feel Wolves will be more than comfortable playing in the Premier League and believe their realistic position next season will be finishing in mid-table.

Ninety-nine per cent felt managing director Laurie Dalrymple was doing a good job.

While 92 per cent of supporters also backed the work done by sporting director Kevin Thelwell.

Wolves fans voted Ruben Neves as their favourite player of the season with 57 per cent of the votes.

He treated them to some sublime goals last season, including his stunning volley against Derby.

Meanwhile, stand-in captain Conor Coady was voted second favourite with 29 per cent of the votes.

Coady was also voted the the most-improved player with 77 per cent of the votes.

Wolves fans voted their favourite match last season as the thrilling 1-0 victory away to Cardiff where Ruben Neves scored a free-kick and Cardiff were denied from two penalties in the dying moments.

At Molineux, the majority of fans have revealed they would back safe standing with 83 per cent voting in favour.

They also voted strongly in support of Wolves staying at Molineux – as opposed to moving to a new ground – with 79 per cent of fans saying ‘we should never leave’.

And Wolves fans were even more vocal about keeping Molineux’s name, with 83 per cent saying they would not want the stadium’s name to be changed.

Wolves fans would also like to see a return of the Liquidator at Molineux with 81 per cent backing such a move.
