Steve Bull: Wolves title statement to the Premier League

To get promoted as champions sends out a statement to people that we are going up to the Premier League and we will stay there.

I thought the game against Bolton was absolutely brilliant.

I didn’t go to the game because I was in Marbella holding a Steve Bull golf event.

There was a video of my singing ‘Hi Ho, Wolverhampton!’

I thought I might not be at the game but I can join in the celebrations.

The goals were superb. I think Bolton always look down their noses at us.

They beat us at the play-offs so to go up there and win by that many goals was brilliant.

I thought all the players performed well at Bolton - it is not about the team but the squad.

Conor Coady’s penalty for Wolves’ fourth goal topped it off.

For the players to give him the penalty showed the team spirit.

I thought that also topped off Coady’s season.

Everything about the second goal from Benik Afobe – the 50-yard ball forward, the touch – was great.

He sent out a statement saying ‘if you sign me up you will get more of this’.

It was a case of what goes around comes around with Mr John McGinlay.

I always thought Bolton were a bogey team for us, but this Wolves team is different.

We used to lose against the better teams and win against the ones that were not as good.

But we can play against anyone now.

Afobe is looking in good form now, he has scored six goals.

Fosun have done a good job by bringing him in. He has done a good job to keep us up there in the league but whether they sign him now I don’t know.

Helder Costa is playing well and looking back to his best, all day long.

When someone gets injured, it takes about six months to be brought back to full fitness.

Now Costa is looking absolutely top drawer and he will be great in the Premier League.

Does it concern me that big clubs could come in for some of our best players?

It does in a way.

I think we need to keep our best players – otherwise it is one step forward and two back.

Conor Coady has stood out for me this season and he could go a long way. He has the potential to play for England.

I think he is a grounded lad.

He has got his position and built up his confidence over the season.

I think Coady will only get stronger and will have a good chance at getting called up to the national team.

What I want from the last two games is to see some of the fringe players given a chance on the pitch.

We are champions now. We know the team next year.

I would like to see other players be given a chance so to say to them 'this is what it is like to be part of the team'.
