A 4-0 thrashing of Bolton at the Macron secured top spot with two matches to spare.

Goals from Barry Douglas, Benik Afobe, Diogo Jota and Conor Coady saw Wolves rout the hosts.

Nuno said: "It means a lot. It's special for the fans that travel so long and so far away, not only today but from the beginning of the season since Austria.

"It was another proof of character. The team showed that no matter what they keep on playing, enjoying, organised, shape, discipline, scoring goals, improving – good.

"We want to improve and grow. This season deserves to the last day the same ethic of work we did from the beginning.

"We won't change because this is what we are.

"I had the belief when I found myself inside a group of men who wanted to improve.

"We all believed we had to do good work.

"It will be very special because it's our home, our pack, it's people that care and love us. We'll get the trophy. It's not for the players – it's for the club, the city, our fans.

I'm proud because we never had doubts. And today we showed – I'm very proud of how we played. The second half was fantastic, organised, discipline, not conceding, trying to take care of the set pieces, game plan, strategy and it was fantastic.

Coady netted the fourth from the penalty spot – his first goal of the season – in front of 4,800 ecstatic away fans.

Nuno said: "It was deserved (for Conor). The team decided to do it. Conor is a special player, he's one of our captains and he leads by example.

"This is the best way to lead, by example.

"We showed we were a better team than Bolton. We wish them all the best."
