Wolves fans bewildered by Ruben Neves double award snub

Wolves fans have been left bewildered over Ruben Neves' double award snub, as Ryan Sessegnon scooped three honours at the EFL awards evening.

Neves was nominated for both Sky Bet Championship Player and Young Player of the season, but was snubbed for both by the Fulham sensation who was the first player from outside of the Premier League to be nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award earlier this month.

Neves has notched six goals this season for Wolves, scoring one of the goal of the season contenders with his 35-yard volley in Wolves' win over Derby, and has been integral as the club secured promotion to the top flight.

The decision not to name the Portuguese maestro as an award winner, despite him being named in the EFL's team of the season, alongside Conor Coady and John Ruddy, has not gone down well with Wolves fans, and supporters of other clubs - who have slammed the decision online:

Neves' snub is the latest one to irk Wolves fans, after they saw Nuno Espirito Santo overlooked for the Championship manager of the season in favour of Cardiff boss Neil Warnock.

Sessegnon has scored 14 times for third-placed Fulham this season, as well as adding six assists over the course of this campaign, but was not able to halt Wolves' promotion last weekend with his side's draw against Brentford sealing promotion at Molineux ahead of their 2-0 derby win over Birmingham City on Sunday.

Neves and Wolves could confirm their title as champions this weekend. If they beat or draw with Bolton on Saturday they'll seal the top spot. Should they lose, Cardiff must beat Nottingham Forest to stop Nuno's side from being named champions.
