Fred Everiss served as secretary-manager for a whopping 46 years between 1902 and 1948, and led the Baggies to their only First Division title in 1919/20.

His son Alan followed in his father’s footsteps to become club secretary, a director, and then a life member, a position he held until 1999.

To mark the centenary of Albion’s title-winning campaign, the Baggies are renaming the manager’s office as ‘The Everiss Suite’.

The change will take place in the summer and has come after being mooted by fan group The Albion Assembly.

Fred Everiss is widely considered to be the longest serving manager of one club in history.
