The 20-year-old attacking midfielder set up two goals and added another in Tuesday’s 4-2 win over the Robins.

But the Leicester loanee paid tribute to Moore for giving him both the confidence and the license to get forward.

“He gives me a lot of confidence going forward,” said Barnes. “He gives me defensive roles as well but I know when I’ve got the ball he’s got confidence in me to go and create stuff.

“And with other players as well, I know they’re going to create for me too. Confidence is high.”

And Barnes believes Moore’s clarity in the changing room is one of his most important attributes.

“He’s a great man-manager,” said Barnes. “He gets the boys going before the game.

“You know what you’re going to get from him every game. That shows on the pitch.

“We know what we’ve got to do for him and he knows what he has to do for us so we get the best out of each other.”

Albion moved up into the play-off places in midweek with their fifth win in a row at The Hawthorns.

Barnes reckons it’s too soon to be looking at the table, but he does hope their formidable home form will strike fear into opposition teams.

“It’s still really early,” he said. “There’s only one or two points between a lot of places but it’s nice to look down the league rather than up it.

“We want to keep that run going at home and make this our fortress – make teams fear us and hopefully set up differently to deal with us.”

Barnes set up goals for both Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez before guiding in his third of the season in the second half.

“Over the last few weeks I’ve hit the woodwork a few times so it was nice to get back on the scoresheet and set up a few goals too,” he said.

“You can see the attacking football we’re playing is really exciting. We always look a threat going forward and it shows in our results.”

And he’s enjoying his relationships with Gayle and Rodriguez.

“It’s always good knowing that when you get the ball to them they’ve got the ability to finish,” said Barnes. “They’ve both stuck away their first chances of the game.

"It’s good for the team knowing you’ve got quality up front.”
