Darren Moore: Everyone involved with West Brom has rallied together

Darren Moore says Albion were able to roar back from two goals down against Liverpool today because everyone involved with the club, including the fans, has rallied around each other.

Moore extended his unbeaten run as caretaker boss to three games with a 2-2 draw at home to Champions League semi-finalists.

After Danny Ings and Mohamed Salah had put Liverpool 2-0 up, late goals from Jake Livermore and Salomon Rondon gave the Baggies a well-deserved point.

And Moore, who brushed away the suggestion from Klopp that Albion had dried the pitch, devoted the point to everyone who had clubbed together.

"It's another good result because we as a football club has come together," he said. "Everybody has come together.

"When I say that I mean supporters - everyone will agree that the atmosphere in here was absolutely superb today - the staff, in terms of their preparation right around the club, which has gone on to the players on the pitch.

"We have earned that result as a football club."

Moore continued: "It only takes a second to score a goal. Even when we got back in the game at 2-1 we had to make sure they didn't break away and score a third goal, while at the same time we were chasing to get back in the game.

"We had to be ultra-careful and absolutely sure in defence that we had cover. But it was really deserved and towards the end I think you saw an atmosphere in the ground willing and wanting and believing that we could get the second goal.

"Us on the bench, the staff and the sub players, definitely had that belief. We've all experienced what can happen when you have that will and drive and what can be achieved through it.

"We were still trying to win at the end. Liverpool came down here wanting to win the game, we wanted to win the game - make no bones about that.

"Having been 2-0 down we'll be the happier club because they probably thought the game was done but from our point of view we only had to get that first goal for the game to change and when we did it certainly changed."

After the game, Klopp launched a strange rant about the dry Hawthorns pitch and claimed Albion's point was a 'waste' because they were going down.

But Moore brushed aside the suggestion Albion had dreid the pitch on purpose.

"It wasn't a ploy, it was a hot day!" he said. "It was a really hot day today. I was so engrossed in the game and the preparation side, my focus wan't about the pitch believe it or not.

"We were just trying to get a team together to play against a very good Liverpool team.

"Make no mistake, they are excellent. We've seen a lot of them this season. They possess an unbelievable goal threat but they're a team as well that are in the Champions League semi-final, so we have come up against a really strong team today.

"The team selection today of Liverpool showed that they had the utmost respect for West Bromich Albion, as we gave them the utmost respect.

"But at the same time we were trying to win. We didn't win the game but we didn't lose the game and that's the main thing."

After picking up four points in games against Manchester United and Liverpool, fans are increasingly calling for Moore to be given the job full-time.

He has refused to throw his hat into the ring so far, and even though he's expected to stay at the club next season, he's not expected to be given the hot seat permanently.

"What happens this afternoon or later over the weekend we can’t determine that," he said.

"We can only look after our own at West Brom and that’s exactly what we’ve done today.

"We’ve come together as a whole club. The only way we got a result because we came together as club. I felt that at the game.

"I know there will be speculation but from where I’m sitting now I’m looking at another positive performance and result.

"In regards to looking forward, we’re just going to plan and prepare for the week ahead in training. What will happen will happen.

"Let’s just enjoy another good performance and result."
