Jonny Evans could leave the Baggies for as little as £3million in the summer if Albion fail to stay in the Premier League.

Albion’s skipper has a release clause in his contract if the Baggies are relegated, which was put in when he joined the club from Manchester United for £6m in the summer of 2015.

The Baggies rejected several offers over £20m for Evans in the summer as Leicester, Arsenal, and Manchester City all came calling.

City and Arsenal are reportedly interested in the Northern Irishman again this window, but are yet to make an official offer.

If he loses Evans, Baggies boss Alan Pardew is planning to direct the funds further up the pitch to buy attackers.

He is expected to replace his skipper with Egyptian centre-back Ali Gabr, who could follow compatriot Ahmed Hegazi to The Hawthorns in a loan deal from Zamalek until the end of the season.

Pardew, however, has put a deadline on Evans leaving the club, and does not wish to lose him in the final three days of the window, meaning any sale needs to sanctioned this week.

The Northern Irishman was brought off ten minutes before the end of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Everton with complaints of feeling dizzy.

"Jonny suffered a concussion at Everton and will be carefully monitored this week," said director of performance Mark Gillett.

"We have to go through all the procedures that happen with a head injury but hopefully he will recover quickly."

He is now a doubt for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
