Walsall receive double League Two nomination
Walsall have been rewarded for their impressive form last month with a double nod in the best player and manager awards for September.
The Saddlers won three of their five league matches last month while also securing a creditable draw at Colchester.
Key to that run was the form of defender James Clarke who, as well as helping his side keep three clean sheets, netted stunning goals against Scunthorpe and Crawley.
That has seen him nominated for the September player of the month award alongside Crewe’s Tommy Lowery, Bradford’s Paudie O’Connor and Exeter’s Lee Martin.
Darrell Clarke is up for the manager of the month award alongside Dave Artell at Crewe, Forest Green Rovers chief Mark Cooper and Cheltenham’s Michael Duff.
