The Saddlers came in for criticism from fans last term for not entering the Central League.

New chief Clarke is looking to bring the feel-good factor back to the Banks’s Stadium following relegation to League Two, and when asked if a reserve side is part of his plans, he said: “We’ll see.

“I’m going to analyse everything. We certainly want to move things forward so that we are producing our own players.

“But you have to make these decisions at the right times.

“I’m not going to stand here and say we are going to do this and that. We’ll see how things develop.

“All decisions will be made with the best interests of where I feel we need to be.”

Meanwhile, Walsall are travelling to National League North side Leamington for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 9.
