The Express & Star understands Kinsella, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign, remains eager to stay at the Banks’s Stadium.

But the Republic of Ireland under-21 international, who joined the Saddlers aged seven, is among a host of players whose deals expire in the summer and have yet to be offered a new deal.

That has alerted clubs in both the Championship and League One who are now plotting a move for the midfielder.

Kinsella, son of former Ireland international Mark Kinsella, has made 26 appearances for Saddlers this term, chipping in with one goal.

However, despite impressing earlier in the season and forcing his way into the side, he has fallen out of favour and has been left out of the matchday squad for the last two games.
