The 24-year-old was the Saddlers hero on Saturday when he came off the bench to net a 94th minute winner at Bristol Rovers.

That goal took Morris’ tally for the season to four.

But he has often found himself out the team with Zeli Ismail and Josh Ginnelly being preferred on the wings.

“I have been frustrated – especially with the form I have shown this season,” Morris said.

“Getting taken out the team is not nice and I didn’t think I deserved to come out.

“It’s hard because we have got good players on the wing in Zeli and Josh. But I’m glad I got on and scored at Bristol. Now it’s up to me to keep showing the manager what I can do.”

Morris admitted he was desperate to get his chance on Saturday with Walsall struggling to break down Darrell Clarke’s side.

“We weren’t taking our chances and I felt a couple of players looked tired – I could see that watching from the side,” the winger continued.

“When I came on I knew I had a good 15 minutes to make an impact on the game. I think I did that.”

Morris’ goal – which lifted Walsall back up to fifth in League One – promoted wild scenes of celebration from both the players and the travelling fans in Bristol.

And the winger said seeing the ball hit the back of the net was an incredible feeling.

“It was a mad – I couldn’t believe it,” Morris added.

“It was good play from the boys. Dobbo (George Dobson) had the ball in the box and he said he just saw me out the corner of his eye. I was this flash of red.

“He was going to shoot but he played me in and I was delighted to put it in.

“I wanted to run over to the fans and celebrate with them but Josh Gordon grabbed me and then everyone piled on top of me.

“But you could see how happy we all were to get the win – you could see just what it means to us.”
