The 21-year-old academy product’s deal had been due to expire at the end of the current campaign but he has been rewarded for some impressive performances.

"I’m delighted to get another year with the club,” said Kinsella, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

“I’ve been here since I was eight and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

“It’s a good place to be for a young player and I’m looking forward to playing my football here over the next year and a half.

“I’ve tried to improve every year appearance wise – and I’ve been getting more appearances every season.

“This season I’ve been trying to nail down right-back and put in the best performances I can.

“I want to play as many games as I can and produce the best performances I can when I play.”

Kinsella, the son of former Saddlers midfielder Mark, has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
