Glassboys face rivals before heading into the play-offs

Stourbridge manager Gary Hackett admits their clash against play-off rivals King’s Lynn Town will be a strange one – but is a match they are still determined to win.

The Glassboys and Norfolk outfit Lynn have both qualified for the Southern Central promotion play-offs and are both guaranteed a home semi-final on Wednesday.

But should the two sides meet again in the final, tomorrow’s match (3pm) will decide who goes into it with home advantage.

“It makes it quite interesting,” said Hackett. “But we are looking to win and I’m sure King’s Lynn will be the same.

“It’s an exciting game between two attack-minded teams and wherever that takes us (into the play-offs), we will view it then.”

Heading into the play-offs, Hackett believes his side have recovered from the disappointment of missing out on automatic promotion after leaders Kettering Town pulled away weeks ago.

“We were over that quite a while ago and we’ve been in no man’s land for a while,” he said. “But a few teams below us have been in good form – we’ve not been in horrendous form, but King’s Lynn, Alvechurch and Stratford have closed the gap.

“But coming back into competitive football is better for us and our performances have been a lot stronger recently.”

Luke Benbow, Aaron Forde and Leon Broadhurst are all doubts after missing Easter Monday’s goalless draw against Rushall Olympic, while Darryl Westlake is a long-term absentee as he requires ankle surgery.

Elsewhere in Southern Central tomorrow (both 3pm), Halesowen Town travel to fellow relegated side St Neots Town, while Rushall Olympic could finish as high as eighth if they can gain three points at Biggleswade Town.

Stafford Rangers have got Hednesford Town in their sights as the Staffordshire rivals bring their Northern Premier campaigns to a close. Defeat for the Pitmen at Witton Albion would give Boro the chance to finish above them – but only if they can beat Matlock Town at Marston Road.

After struggling for the early part of the season, Chasetown will view holding on to 13th as something of a consolation.

They host second-placed Radcliffe at the Scholars Ground tomorrow (3pm).

In National North, Kidderminster Harriers host Guiseley.
