The Boro sit four points above the Evo-Stik Northern Premier drop zone with just three games to play but face a tricky double header, starting with Saturday’s home game against title-chasing South Shields.

They follow it by travelling to fourth-placed Nantwich Town on Monday, and Meechan said: “The aim is to have achieved what we want to have achieved by Easter Monday. Everyone at the club is striving to stay up.”

Hednesford Town travel to Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow – with caretaker Gary Hayward in charge after the shock departure of manager Nicky Eaden yesterday. In Division One South, Chasetown host Prescot Cables on Saturday, before going to Leek Town on Monday (both 3pm).
