Rushall Olympic 0 Coalville Town 2 - Report and pictures

Two goals from Andrew Wright saw visiting Coalville Town leave Dales Lane with all three points following this deserved victory over an out of sorts Rushall Olympic. It was a disappointing way for the Pics to end 2018 who failed to seriously test Richard Walton in the Coalville goal, in a game that saw both teams end with ten men.

Home `keeper` Joe Slinn was cautioned for handling outside the area when he slipped collecting a through ball from Luke Shaw and it took sixteen minutes for the first sight at goal when Asa Charlton`s long throw was headed out to Ashley Sammons who fired well over.

The visitors then began to come into the game and Joe Doyle-Charles turned well in the area before seeing his shot blocked and from the rebound Tim Berridge saw his shot deflected into the arms of a grateful Slinn.

Coalville put another good move together but Wright`s cross went out for a goal-kick while at the other end good play from Sammons saw him get to the by-line but his cross was over hit and the chance was gone.

Five minutes before half time though the visitors were ahead when Andrew Wright ended a fine move with a terrific right foot shot that flew into the top corner of the net with Slinn well beaten.

As the second half began Rushall tried to get back into the game but Adam Page`s free-kick was well over and Ben Lund robbed a defender but saw his low cross cleared for a corner which came to nothing.

The home side were dealt a huge blow on seventy one minutes when Joe Hull was shown a straight red card and five minutes later the visitors doubled their advantage when Wright finished off a fine move by slotting the ball past Slinn.

Rushall almost pulled one back when a long clearance from Slinn found Lund but his first time lob was inches wide and then the visitors found themselves down to ten men when Joe Doyle-Charles was given a second yellow card
