Chasetown 1 Prescot Cables 2 - Report

Chasetown made a positive start and loanee Marvellous Onabirekhanlen was a constant thorn in the Cables defence, forcing a low save from Mitchell Allen and then won a free kick outside the box which was cleared by the Merseysiders.

Chase keeper James Wren was shown yellow for a foul way outside the area as the visitors began to take control.

On the half hour, Prescot took the lead when Jack Goodwin’s shot went in off the left hand post.

Left back Jordan Evans brought Chasetown a lifeline with a 25 yard free kick that struck the inside of the post and beat Allen.

In stoppage time, Kris Taylor’s corner was met by the head of Mitch Clarke and the last good chance went begging as Allen clutched the ball before skipper Danny O'Callaghan drew Allen into a 96th minute save.
