Leiston 4 Halesowen Town 0 - Report

Halesowen's recent good league run came to an end in Suffolk as the home side moved up to fourth place.

The Yeltz were unbeaten in six games but got off to the worst possible start by conceding a goal on just 15 seconds when Jake Reed seemingly ran through the visiting defence to score.

John Hill's men immediately tried to get back into the game in trying and windy conditions, Tobias Hayles-Docherty shooting over on 11 minutes and then seeing a corner cleared.

But when Byron Lawrence made it 2-0 for the home side three minutes before the break it looked an uphill task for Halesowen.

Top scorer James Roberts shot wide for them on 63 minutes as they battled to get back into the game.

But Leiston gradually got back on top and Cameron Gregory was forced to make two saves, one from the corner which resulted from the first one.

It was two penalties that finished Town off, the first coming from Matthew Blake and the second from Christy Finch three minutes from the end to give the scoreline a disjointed feel, although it was certainly well deserved for the home side.
