There was an open start to the proceedings with both sides looking to get the upper hand early on. Townsend had to be alert to clear an inviting ball into the six-yard box from the visitors, whilst Danny Dubidat went close with a powerful drive that dipped just over for The Pics.

As we started to get into our stride, a teasing ball to the far post saw Danny Waldron head just wide before a neat passage of play ended with Lewis Archer’s pull-back fall to Dubidat whose effort was cleared off the line.

After Dale went close from distance for the visitors, a neat turn from Danny Waldron at the other end saw him cross into the danger zone but the visitors manage to scramble clear under pressure.

It was end-to-end stuff as the first half went on. Jones got in a low strike that Hill saved well before Waldron's header at the other end was comfortably dealt with by the 'keeper.

A corner from Singh picked out the head of Joe Hull but his effort crept just wide.

On the stroke of half-time, Singh and Dubidat, linked up well for the latter to curl his effort just over but there was a let-off for The Pics with the last action when Hill saved well in a one-on-one situation as Percil broke through.

The second half started in much the same vein with Hill doing well to deny the visitors.

A sweet strike from distance by McKenna saw the ball rattle the woodwork as The Pics breathed a sigh of relief.

With six minutes to go, The Pics were reduced to ten men as Townsend received his marching orders for a second yellow card as the resulting free-kick from a promising position was saved.

Right at the death, The Pics were reduced to nine men when Richard Brodie was dismissed for two yellow cards in quick succession, as we held on to claim a point and a clean sheet from a goalless draw.
