Andy Paddock’s side travelled to take on the United Counties League outfit on Saturday having already beaten three teams from higher up in the non-league pyramid.

But they turned that hat-trick of wins into a quadruple with a stunning performance in Northamptonshire.

It was Paddocks men who made a flying start to the match with Mitch Clarke volleying in from close range after Ben Perks had powered a header against the crossbar following a corner.

Incredibly, Sporting doubled their advantage just three minutes later when the hosts again failed to deal with a set-piece.

Again, Alex Moore whipped in a corner which this time was headed into the net by Kieron Northwood.

The frantic start to the match continued when the Cooks pulled one back on 10 minutes with Sean McBride producing a smart finish from 15 yards.

Cogenhoe then levelled shortly after the restart when Ryan Dove met a cross with a bullet header.

But despite letting slip a two-goal lead, Paddock’s side rallied to find a winner.

It arrived just past the hour with Northwood slipping a great ball through to Wes Grey, who then burst down the middle.

And the from the edge of the box, the Sporting man smashed in a low drive to send his team into the next round.
