Andre Green ready to go for Aston Villa after injury nightmare
Villa youngster Andre Green cannot wait to get the new season started after overcoming a severe hamstring injury.
The 19-year-old winger made a bright start to last term, scoring a stunner against Norwich, but pulled up against Brentford in September. He went on to have surgery and did not play for the rest of the campaign, but has been working hard in what he feels is the most important pre-season of his young career.
“A year ago, I felt preparations for the campaign went well,” said Green.
“I was enjoying the best spell of my career. Then, in the goalless draw with Brentford, that momentum was brought to a halt.
“I feared sprinting at full speed for a long time. It was a big setback, just as things were taking off. I’m continuing to work hard on a daily basis. I’m finally feeling good in myself again and can look forward to the season with some optimism.”
