The England international is taking part of Boro’s Tuesday training session ahead of their curtain-raiser against Lancaster City.

It follows this weekend’s final pre-season friendly at Newcastle Town.

“He’s going to give them something different, he’s a fresh voice. He’s coming in to do some strength and conditioning and a bit of speed work,” said Rangers joint boss Alex Meechan.

“We hope he inspires them, gives them a bit of focus, and the players should respond to someone of his reputation.”

Daley played 233 games for Villa before joining Wolves where he made 21 appearances. He also played seven times for Walsall before becoming fitness and conditioning coach at Molineux for almost 10 years until leaving in 2017.
