Wolves

Wolves have been linked with yet another Portuguese international, this time in the form of former West Ham defender Jose Fonte.

The 34-year-old centre-back is free to join a new club after leaving Chinese side Dalian Yifang this summer, and could eye a move back to the Premier League.

Wolves have recently let Roderick Miranda leave on-loan, so could well invest in another defender.

Meanwhile, Wolves are also reportedly being credited with an interest in West Brom forward Nacer Chadli.

The Belgian performed well at the World Cup after an injury-hit campaign with Albion last season.

Besiktas and Lyon are two other sides also reportedly keen, although a move could be put on hold due to his fitness, with the Belgian forced off in the third-place play-off against England through injury.

West Brom

Albion are reportedly considering a shock swap deal with Middlesbrough which could see Matt Phillips depart and Britt Assombalonga head to The Hawthorns.

Reports claim that Darren Moore is keen to add a striker to his ranks, and Assombalonga could fit the mould.

Phillips is of interest to former Baggies boss Tony Pulis, who is keen to be re-united with the Scotland international, according to reports.

Newcastle are reportedly set to bring Salomon Rondon to St James' Park on an initial loan move.

The Venezuelan striker has been tipped for an exit all summer, and the Magpies seem to be in pole position for his signature.

Reports suggest that Newcastle will loan Rondon for a £4m fee this summer, with an option to pay a further £15m next season to bring him in for good.

Aston Villa

Tony Pulis is reportedly keen to sign Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason.

The Icelandic international has been in and out of the Villa team over the past year, but has impressed when given an opportunity in central midfield.

However, given the financial situation at the club, Steve Bruce could be tempted to sell the 30-year-old.

Leeds United are not interested in signing Villa star Jonathan Kodjia this summer, despite conflicting reports.

The Ivorian striker has been linked with a move despite missing most of the previous campaign with injury.

However, Leeds are reportedly looking elsewhere for a striker and won't join the race to sign the Villa man.

Walsall

Dean Keates will cast his eye over his mystery trialist, rumoured to be Michalis Giorkatzis, once again this evening.

Walsall take on Aston Villa this evening at the Banks's Stadium, and Keates has confirmed the trialist will appear against Steve Bruce's side.

Walsall have so far refused to name the attacker who can play on the wing or in the number 10 role.
