Foxes’ skipper Colin Ackermann chose to bat after winning the toss and Harry Dearden took full advantage of a series of wide and over-pitched deliveries in going to a half-century off just 34 balls with 11 boundaries as the Foxes racked up 340.

In response, Warwickshire’s started promisingly, openers Ed Pollock and Dom Sibley hitting 70 off the first 10 overs. Sibley was then leg before to a full, in-swinging delivery from left-arm seamer Dieter Klein. Thereafter there was a good effort from Liam Banks and Jeetan Patel but the Bears were all out for 304 off 47.1 overs.
