The wind of change blew through Brewood during the winter with a new skipper taking charge and a batch of arrivals.

Experienced batsman Richard Bradford will lead the side this summer and he has wasted no time in overhauling the playing staff.

Staffordshire Minor Counties all-rounder Tim Maxfield is the most eye-catching arrival, having joined as club professional from North Staffs League side Whitmore.

James and Greg Clark have arrived from Wombourne while seamer Dan Smith and George Nock have checked in from Penn.

“There have been quite a lot of changes during the winter, which are probably for the better,” said Bradford.

“I think we will have a stronger and higher ability side than last season.

“We have added some real quality to the squad and we needed to do that.

“The early signs are good. Training has been very good and so has the atmosphere around the club.”
