LETTER: Where are buses in future vision for Wolverhampton?

A wonderful impression of the city centre on the front page of E&S (October 8).

As a selfish bus user, where are all of the buses going?

The proposed ‘improvements’ aim to increase the footfall to the centre, thus attracting greater retail opportunities.

But how do the people get to the shops? Where will the buses be re-routed? Where will the extra car parks be and how will they accessed?

The city council is almost £1 billion in debt, but council leader Lawrence avers that council assets more than cover this debt. I cannot see how the millions spent reducing the ability of shoppers to reach the shops is going to increase the council assets!

Maybe the artist’s impression is correct. I don’t think it shows anyone over 25 years old and not a single person is carrying a shopping bag. Maybe it is a vision of Wolverhampton in the future.
