Cut pay of men at BBC

So the BBC women presenters are up in arms about unequal pay. Mr Huw Edwards gets £599,999 a year. A woman presenter, who seems equally capable of reading the autocue script, is paid £199,999. What is the extra £400,000 for? Ah, says the BBC they need ‘to retain talent’. Are these talents so rare and exceptional?

We have all met schoolteachers, taxi drivers, market traders and others, who can speak the Queen’s English, who have ready turn of phrase and wit. The BBC is financed by a ‘poll tax’, and licence fee which has to be paid whether one watches BBC or not. Having got their hands in the till, BBC administrators now seek to justify bad practices.

Now as a start, it is the male presenters who should have their fees reduced. We also do not know how much is being paid by the BBC indirectly, to those who are engaged by contracting companies. For example, how much are Dimbleby brothers being paid?
