'It's about time': Traffic-calming plans welcomed in 'dangerous' Wolverhampton street

People living in New Hampton East and New Hampton West, in Whitmore Reans, have welcomed council plans to introduce traffic-calming measures to the "dangerous" stretch of road.

Wolverhampton Council gave notice to residents this week that it intends to add a number of road humps and flat-topped pedestrian crossings to make the area safer.

Residents say the plans are "much needed" and that "they should be installed years ago".

Tracy Noble, 54, or New Hampton East, said: "Honestly I think it's a great idea, in the day time it's not so bad, but in the night cars speed down here.
