Casualty cut free after four-car crash on A456

Five people were taken to hospital after a four-vehicle crash last night.

The collision happened on the A456 Bewdley bypass at around 7pm.

One person who was trapped in their vehicle was freed by firefighters after the incident, while six people were involved in the crash in total.

West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene.

The extent of any injuries is not yet known.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "We were called at 7.25 to reports of a four-vehicle crash on the A456, Bewdley Bypass.

"Five people were taken to hospital.

"Road closure were in place while emergency services were in attendance and it reopened at around 10pm."
