Train delays after level crossing damage and technical issues hit rail line
Train commuters faced delays and cancellations after a crash and technical issues sparked problems.
West Midlands Railway warned passengers of disruption into the evening across services.
Rail services into and out of Birmingham's Snow Hill Station were heavily affected.
Earlier this afternoon a lorry ploughed through a level crossing, bending the barrier and coming to a rest on the track.
The crash happened on Wood Lane, close to Cradley Railway Station, at around 12.30pm on Friday.
West Midlands Railway advised passengers to travel to Rowley Regis station and then complete their journey by using replacement bus services between Worcester stations and Stourbridge.
The lorry was cleared by mid-afternoon but that delays are still expected due to repairs.
There was also a track circuit failure at Langley Green, in Oldbury, which added to the chaos.
And officials confirmed there was a technical fault with a barrier at Hartlebury station in Worcestershire.
This caused added issues on the line.
A West Midlands Railway spokesman said trains and staff had been disrupted by the problems.
A reduced train service was operating between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge, Kidderminster and Worcester stations.
Rail replacement buses were in place into the evening.
Chiltern Railways operated trains to and from Birmingham Moor Street station but did not be call at Birmingham Snow Hill during the evening.
Tickets were being accepted on National Express West Midlands buses.
