Wyre Forest local election results: Tories maintain control
The Conservatives maintained their strong grip in Wyre Forest despite a three-seat swing to Labour in the local election.
Nine out of the 11 seats up for grabs were held by the Tories going into the election, but the Conservatives ended up with three fewer wards after losing three to Labour, one to the Liberal Democrats and gaining one vacant ward.
It means the Tories now hold 21 out of the 33 seats on the district council, while Labour's six seats make it the largest of the opposition parties.
The Lib Dems have three seats, there are three independent councillors and two represent Independent Community and Health Concern.
One newly elected councillor is 18-year-old Nick Harris, who held onto the Bewdley and Rock ward for the Conservative Party.
The Wribbenhall and Arley seat was up for grabs after former independent councillor Gordon Yarranton was disqualified after failing to attend a council meeting for six months due to health issues.
The election was the last time the authority will elect one third of councillors, with the authority moving to 'all-out' elections every four years.
