Biker comes off badly in road rage confrontation with taxi

Footage captured on headcam shows biker furiously shouting at taxi driver before his bike is run over

A motorcyclist has been left red-faced after his foul-mouthed rant at a taxi driver ended with his bike being run over.

The footage, filmed on the biker’s headcam, shows the aftermath of an apparent incident. The biker approaches the open window of a Citroen Berlingo operated by Liverpool-based private hire firm Delta Taxis, before launching into a rant at the driver within.

The unnamed motorcyclist accused the driver of pulling out on him at a roundabout, before calling him a “f**king k**b” and threatening to “break your skull”.

He then appeared to kick the side of the taxi and punch its door mirror, leaving it folded in, before starting to walk back to his bike.

But any thoughts he may have had about driving away were soon scuppered by the taxi driver, who started up his engine and roared off, slamming into the motorbike as he left.

Merseyside Police confirmed it had spoken to both parties, saying that no formal complaints had been made and that insurance was dealing with the aftermath.

Commenters on Twitter, where the clip was posted, appeared to come down on the side of the taxi driver. One user said: “It was clearly self-defence. He was verbally attacked and had his property damaged. He had to escape and must have been terrified.”

Others clearly saw the funny side, with one commenting: “Beautifully done grandad! Didn’t even raise his voice back once. Just went from ‘Driving Ms Daisy’ to full ‘Mad Max’ in an instant.”
