McLaren shunted by Chevrolet truck in shocking footage

Dashcam footage from Thailand shows a McLaren 720S being rear-ended by a Chevrolet pick-up truck following an emergency stop

Shocking footage has revealed the moment an exotic McLaren 720S is hit by a sideways Chevrolet pick-up following an emergency stop.

Dashcam footage recorded in Thailand shows the British supercar travelling at a considerable speed in comparison to surrounding traffic while allegedly racing a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

A sudden traffic jam means the McLaren must use all of its braking force to come to halt — and does so successfully — but the following pick-up truck doesn’t quite get so lucky.

The Chevrolet brakes hard and almost swerves into the path of another vehicle in the outside lane, before getting incredibly sideways and clattering into the rear of the McLaren 720S — along with the car on its outside.

Nobody was believed to be injured in the incident, but the 720S is reportedly one of just three in Thailand and has supposedly been taken off the road for repairs — although images show the damage to be minor.

It cost approximately 30,000,000 Thai Baht when new, which is the equivalent of around £710,000 — considerably more than the sub-£220k asking price in the UK.
