Fiat has unveiled its Mirror specification, boosting equipment levels on its 500, 500L and 500X models.

With order books now open for the 500 and 500L – and those for the 500X set to open in February – the special edition gives drivers the option of getting Fiat’s latest infotainment system fitted as standard, among other features.

The Mirror specification cars are also recognisable on the road thanks to unique blue paint, along with chrome details and a 500 Mirror badge.

The standard 500 receives chrome mirror caps, 16-inch alloy wheels, and is only available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Those wanting more space can opt for the larger 500X, which now benefits from 17-inch matte black alloys and B-xenon headlights. Inside, the main fascia has been finished in the same blue shade that has been applied to the exterior.

The 500L MPV has also been given the Mirror treatment. Here, it gets mirror badges on the pillars, as well as bi-colour ‘Venzia’ blue paintwork.

However, the biggest changes to the trio come in the form of technology. The Mirror package brings Uconnect LINK technology which incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with both allowing for seamless integration between a smartphone and the car’s media system.

Relayed via a high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen, the system can even be controlled via steering wheel-mounted controls.

In addition, the system comes with Mopar Connect services. These include road rescue, accident assistance and can even locate a vehicle in case of theft. A smartphone app can also show the position of the car after it is parked, as well as fuel levels, battery charge and tyre pressure.

To celebrate the release of the Mirror edition, Fiat is offering the specification as a free upgrade on cars sold in the 72 hours following midday on 19 January.

Once that period ends, the pack will cost an additional £600 on top of the car’s full price.
