Four people taken to hospital after crash near Kidderminster

Four people have been taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash near Kidderminster.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A449 Wolverhampton Road and Caunsall Road, shortly before 2pm today.

The crash involved two cars and a lorry.

Four people – three men and a woman – were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said.

West Mercia Police closed the road between the Island Pool public house and the Whittington Inn.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to the junction of the A449 and Caunsall Road to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars and a lorry at around 1.50pm today.

"We transported four patients to hospital in total.

"Two men, both in their 20s, travelled together in one ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley, with minor injuries.

"A woman, in her 50s, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, in Redditch, with injuries not believed to be serious. A man, also in his 50s, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

"We sent three ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene."
