Controlled explosion near Kidderminster after suspected World War Two artillery shell discovered

Police were called to deal with a suspected World War Two artillery shell near Kidderminster on Saturday.

At around midday, officers received a report that the suspected live World War two artillery shell had been found in a field in Lowe Lane in Wolverley.

On Saturday afternoon, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) safely carried out a controlled explosion.

They said afterwards: "This incident has now been drawn to its conclusion and no further explosions should be heard."
